Discover Lapland’s enchanting forest with Aurora’s many outdoor offerings! The guided nature hike is a three-hour guided tour where you’ll meander through Lapland’s breathtaking forest, learning about the native flora, fauna, and active wildlife. For those looking for a more fast-paced adventure, the four-hour forest cycle tour is a great way to explore the landscape. You’ll hit several tracks and trails while learning about the local environment. Lunch is provided on the cycle tour, to ensure you have the energy to get through this exciting day!
Aurora Safaris also offers a forest foraging expedition, perfect for those interested in learning more about the different foods the land can provide. On this excursion, you’ll learn foraging etiquette, what is and is not safe to eat, and how to use the ingredients in traditional cooking.
Don’t go chasing waterfalls—or, in this case, do! Storforsen is one of Europe’s largest unregulated rapids. The waterfall is a little over five meters wide with an 82-meter drop, leaving many visitors wonder-struck at the sight of it. For a unique and educational experience, we highly recommend Aurora’s opportunity to visit a Sami family and meet their reindeer flock. The Sami are an indigenous group (Europe’s only indigenous group) to the Lapland region whose history dates back to the last ice age. This experience allows you to delve into the history of the Sami people and reindeer herding as their livelihood.
Nothing beats a day on the water, especially on the pristine waters of Swedish lapland! Aurora Safaris offers two guided tours for you to choose from – a guided canoeing tour and a two-day canoe trip.
